After spending 6 months with our Mini Cooper SE, we found it interesting to write a second review.
In the meantime we have driven almost 5700km and are still completely convinced of the driving behavior. Charging is also very pleasant overnight. However, in our opinion, the urban store is not that well thought out.
As an electric car owner, you need a public charging provider. We opted for BMW Charging, which works well for us both in town and at petrol stations. In Hamm there are 18 charging points for around 180,000 inhabitants, but only 3 in the city center, which are therefore very popular.
However, the provider is not so well represented in larger cities in the area. Much more often there are Innogy or city-owned charging stations with which BMW Charging arent always compatible. The charging stations are displayed on the BMW Charging App, but an error appears when starting the charging stations and cannot be activated even after long phone calls. Unfortunately you are sent from provider to provider and in the end no one can help. There is the option of activating an Innogy charging station once via their website, but we do not see this as making any sense if you pay for a contract.
We find this a shame and hope that with all the reforms a uniform solution and more charging options will also come about in smaller cities.
